The prompt points the agent at /SKILL.md: install, the usage rules, where the option references are, and how to pull any docs example into the project. Every example page also has a "Copy prompt" in its menu for that example.

The skill knows both editions of the table: it reads the style in components.json (radix-* or base-*) and installs from the matching path of the hosted registry, /r/radix/ or /r/base/. Without a components.json it runs shadcn init first and asks you for the base.

One path per shadcn base, item names the same on both:

Namespace form, registered once per project: {style} resolves to the project's own style, so the same @st/<item> address works on either base.

## shadcn-table

- Data table: components/ui/shadcn-table (from the shadcn registry, edit freely).
- Before changing table options read /llms.mdx/docs/api/table-options/content.md
  on the docs site. Column options: /llms.mdx/docs/api/column-options/content.md.
- `data` and `columns` given to useShadcnTable must be stable
  (useMemo, useState or module scope).
- Reinstall: pnpm dlx shadcn@latest add https://www.shadcn-table.com/r/<base>/shadcn-table.json --overwrite
  (<base> is radix or base, from the style in components.json; replaces local edits in that directory).

The shadcn MCP server browses the registries listed in components.json, so register the namespace above, then configure your client:

Registry URL to use: https://www.shadcn-table.com/r/<base>/registry.json, with <base> radix or base. The namespace template reaches it through the project's style (/r/{style}/registry.json). Available once the hosted registry is deployed.
